FAQ's ABOUT POWER WASHING HOUSES

Power Washing Home Exteriors

  • Will house cleaning remove the "green stuff" from my siding?

Yes, the "green" you see on your home's vinyl siding is a species of algae that infests thousands of homes yearly. We clean the siding with a special detergent and pressure washing to kill the algae and remove the stain. We also suggest using a mildew-inhibiting detergent to keep the algae from forming again. We clean the vinyl siding on houses with a process designed to safely remove algae, mold, grime, dirt, mold and other contaminants.

  • How do you treat roofs?

Pressure washing the roof is never recommended, so we do a "roof treatment." We use a special algae treatment to destroy moss, lichen and black streaks. This is done at very low pressure using a pump sprayer or garden hose attachment to avoid structural damage and ensure the best possible results for your home.

  • Will you remove debris from my roof?

  • What is concrete cleaning and sealing?

Our Concrete Washing and Sealing Process uses safe pressure to remove dirt and grime from concrete surfaces. We use the best concrete sealer that contains a siloxane sealant. The sealant helps protect against staining, water damage, moss, mold, and mildew growth. Additionally, it creates a barrier that repels oil and other contaminants and resists UV rays and other weather elements to extend the life of the concrete.

  • What types of concrete are preferred for Wash and Seal?

Our sealant is designed for typical concrete used on driveways and sidewalks. Our penetrating sealant is unsuitable for stamped concrete because another type of sealant was used when stamped. We also wash stamped concrete, but that is a different process.

  • What sealant does The Grime Guyz use?

We use the highest quality siloxane-silane compound expertly formulated to penetrate the surface and protect concrete from cracking, chipping and pitting.

  • Does the sealer make my concrete slippery?

No, we use a high-quality sealer that penetrates and protects the concrete from the inside. This ensures that the concrete does not become slippery or change its appearance after applying our sealer.

  • Will The Grime Guyz remove oil/rust stains or tire marks from my driveway?

These stains may lighten, but our process does not completely remove oil/rust or inorganic stains. We use professional grade degreaser or rust remover that diminishes the stain, but deeply embedded stains cannot always be removed without damaging the concrete. We can remove tire marks and other buildups on your concrete.
